Anxiety Handling
Anxiety counseling in Hyderabad, and online across India
With Simran Rani, Counseling Psychologist
If anxiety has stopped feeling like an occasional visitor and started feeling like background noise you can't turn off, this is the kind of anxiety I work with most. It rarely comes from one big thing. More often it is the accumulation of smaller ones (deadlines, uncertainty, other people's expectations, your own) that never fully resolve, so your body stays on guard long after the actual threat has passed.
Sessions are online over Google Meet anywhere in India, or in person across Hyderabad. The first one is a conversation about what is actually happening in your week, not an assessment.
What constant anxiety often looks like
Not a diagnosis, just what comes up most often in session:
- A racing mind at night, even when the day itself was fine
- Overthinking conversations long after they've ended
- A tight chest or restless energy with no obvious trigger
- Avoiding things not because you don't want them, but because the anxiety around them feels too loud
- Feeling anxious about being anxious, a loop that feeds itself
If this sounds familiar, it doesn't mean something is wrong with you. It usually means your nervous system has learned to stay alert as a way of trying to protect you, even when it is costing you more than it is helping.
How I work with anxiety
"Just relax" rarely works, because anxiety is not a decision, it is a pattern. The aim is not to eliminate anxiety altogether. It is steadier days, and more room to respond instead of react. In practice that means:
- Understanding your specific anxiety, not anxiety in general. Anxiety about failure looks different from anxiety about rejection, and they respond to different approaches.
- Working with the anxious thought, not just trying to silence it. Most anxious thoughts are trying to protect you from something. The work is usually in questioning whether the protection is still needed.
- Building tolerance for uncertainty in small doses, rather than needing every "what if" answered before you can feel okay.
- Noticing where anxiety lives in your body, not just your head. A lot of people carry it as tension long before they consciously register the thought behind it.
None of this makes anxiety disappear overnight. It does make it something you can work with, rather than something that runs you.
Who this is for
Teens, young adults and working professionals make up most of the people I see for anxiety: school and exam pressure, career transitions, the first years of a job, and the always-on comparison that comes with life online. I also work with children, with a parent or legal guardian involved. Anyone under 18 is booked and consented for by a parent or legal guardian; a friend cannot book for a minor.
When is it worth booking?
If anxiety has started shaping your decisions (what you avoid, what you say yes to out of fear rather than choice), or if it has been persistent for weeks rather than passing, that is usually a sign it is worth working through with support rather than managing alone. You don't need a diagnosis or a referral to send a request.

Common questions
Is it normal to feel anxious all the time?
Constant anxiety is common, and it usually isn't about one big thing. It builds up from smaller pressures that never fully resolve, so your body stays in a low-grade alert state. It is worth talking to someone when it has lasted weeks rather than days, or when it has started deciding what you avoid.
Can I have anxiety counseling online if I am not in Hyderabad?
Yes. Online sessions run over Google Meet and are available anywhere in India. In-person sessions are in private meeting rooms and quiet cafe lounges across Hyderabad.
How much does a first session cost?
The first session is ₹850 for a limited period (regular price ₹1,500), online or in person. Fees for later sessions are discussed with you directly before you commit to anything further.
