About the clinician

Simran Rani

Counseling Psychologist in Hyderabad, Telangana

Hi, I’m Simran! As a counseling psychologist working closely with children, teens, and young adults, I’m passionate about making therapy accessible, relatable, and judgment-free. From managing daily struggles to healing from deeper traumas, I combine various therapeutic tools to help you navigate life’s challenges and build a life you love.

How I work

Sessions start with what is actually happening in your week, not with a label. From there we look at the pattern underneath it: the thought that shows up before the anxiety, the reason the phone comes out, the boundary that never gets said out loud. I combine tools from different therapeutic approaches depending on what you are dealing with.

The aim is rarely to make a feeling disappear. With anxiety, it is steadier days and more room to respond instead of react. With digital burnout, it is rebuilding the energy and focus that always-on life quietly drains. With identity questions, it is a clearer sense of your own values outside other people’s expectations. With boundaries, it is being able to say no without the guilt that used to come with it.

I read every booking request myself. If I think in person would serve you better than online, I will ask for that instead of confirming an online slot, and I may decline a request if I don’t think I am the right fit. Nothing is confirmed automatically.

Who I work with

Children, teens, young adults, and working professionals. The booking form accepts clients from age 5. Anyone under 18 is booked and consented for by a parent or legal guardian; a friend cannot book for a minor, and a sibling or spouse cannot consent for one.

The four areas I work in most are anxiety, digital burnout, identity, and boundaries with family, friends, and partners. School stress, exam pressure, career transitions, and the comparison that comes with life online all sit inside those.

What a first session looks like

Usually a casual, confidential conversation. I will ask what brought you in, a little about your background, and what you want out of this. You will not be pushed to talk about anything you are not ready for. Think of it as the two of us working together to untangle your thoughts and build practical tools, at your own pace.

The first session is ₹850 for a limited period (regular ₹1,500), online or in person. Fees for later sessions are discussed with you directly before you commit to anything further. Sessions run 8 AM to 6 PM IST on weekdays and weekends, and a request needs at least 36 hours’ notice.

Every booking includes an informed-consent document that you read and sign on your phone or laptop. Once I have reviewed and confirmed the request, the confirmation email arrives with that signed consent attached as a PDF.

Online or in person

Online sessions happen over Google Meet and are open to anyone in India. In-person sessions are in private meeting rooms and quiet cafe lounges across Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Hitech City, Chikkadpalli, Himayatnagar, Abids, Nampally, Basheerbagh, Hyderguda, RTC X Roads.

If you’re in immediate distress or having thoughts of self-harm, please reach out right now: Tele MANAS, the Government of India’s free, 24/7 mental health helpline, is available at 1800-89-14416 (toll-free) or the short code 14416. This is independent of this practice and can help immediately - our own booking process isn’t built for emergencies.
