I've never been to a therapy before....what can I expect?
Going to therapy for the first time usually just feels like a casual, confidential conversation where your therapist will ask about what brought you in, your background, and what goals you have in mind. You won't be forced to talk about anything you aren't ready for, and the session is entirely at your own pace to help you feel safe and understood. Think of it as a collaborative team effort where you and a professional work together to untangle your thoughts and build practical tools for a healthier mind.
